The National Resistance movement NRM has held its Local council 1 chairmanship elections today nationwide ,according to its roadmap issued by its top leadership recently.
In the Bukwo District ,the elections were greeted with low voter turnout despite proper mobilisation by the party leadership .
The low voter turnout according to some individuals 9FM spoke to is the lining up method of voting unlike the traditional secret ballot method of voting which they say is convenient and secretThe exercise was generally peaceful in the different areas within the sub-counties of Bukwo district with voters forming lines and enduring scorching sun
The NRM village structure elections is part of the greater NRM political and electoral roadmap for 2025-2026,which was released by secretary General Richard Todwong in April this year ,urging leaders within the party to fully participate in the process and be observant of the proposed dates for all party activities.
