Three people are feared dead and hundreds others displaced by floods and landslides that hit Sironko district last evening.
The Eastern Regional Police Commander, Alphonse Mbuga, says the three, went missing after landslides triggered off by a heavy downpour hit Bumasef Sub County.
The identities of the three have not yet been established.
Mbuga says floods have also displaced hundreds of people from the Sub Counties of Buyaga and Muyembe.
Mbuga says residents in the affected areas have fled their homes and taken refuge in highlands leaving their property submerged in the water.
The rainy season usually triggers off massive landslides in the hilly areas of Mbale.
