The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Election Disputes Tribunal has upheld the victory of Kitti peter as the party’s flag bearer for T’oo county, Bukwo district.This follows the dismissal of a petition filed by his rival, Chelangat Alinga Solomon, challenging Kitti’s victory of the July 17 NRM primary elections.
Chelangat, who garnered 10,805 votes, sought the nullification of the results and a fresh poll, arguing that kitti, who received 11,655 votes, engaged in various electoral malpractices citing chasing away his polling agents from polling stations, Delayed voter materials in Lwongon s/county, Failed voting in two ghost villages of soset and kapkures, manipulation of Result Declaration forms, Harassment and intimidation, and underage voters among others.

But, kitti peter denied all the petitioner’s allegations of electoral irregularities, asserting that the election was conducted fairly, transparently, and in accordance with the NRM election Guidelines..
The Tribunal noted that the petitioner did not attach any evidence to substantiate the allegations contained in his petition, he did not lead any oral evidence nor did he file the written submission to support his averments. He did not present any witness testimony sufficient to prove his allegations to the satisfaction of the tribunal.
The tribunal upheld Kitti’s victory, confirming him as the official NRM flag bearer for T’oo County, Bukwo district.
